Rimsulfuron — toxicity, side effects, diseases and environmental impacts
Rimsulfuron can be called by its other names such as 1-(4,6-dimethoxypyrimidin-2-yl)-3-(3-ethylsulfonyl-2-pyridylsulfonyl)urea, N-((4,6-Dimethoxypyrimidin-2-yl)aminocarbonyl)-3-(ethylsulfonyl)-2-pyridinesulfonamide, N-[[(4,6-Dimethoxy-2-pyrimidinyl)amino)carbonyl]-3-(ethylsulfonyl)-2-pyridine sulfonamide, and 2-Pyridinesulfonamide. Rimsulfuron inhibits the activity of acetolactate synthase (ALS), also known as acetohydroxyacid synthase (AHAS) in plants and which is responsible for protein formation, thereby effectively stopping the growth of the apical meristem and the root tip.
